Our Election Strategy - Collaborating with Lib Dems & Greens

Many of you have expressed concern with regard to CISTA candidates standing against Green and Liberal Democrats in May. After some consideration, we have decided not to stand in constituencies where Liberal Democrats and Greens are the incumbent MPs. Both of these parties have expressed their support for the reform and review of Britain’s drug laws relating to cannabis and other drugs.

We are making steady progress with regard to recruitment of candidates and expect to be fielding at up to 100 candidates in May. With this number we'll get a Party Political Broadcast !

Please do keep encouraging people to join the party and #StandInMay.

The Liberals may control Shetland and Orkney for now but the rise of the SNP membership since the referendum has risen by 150%.
I for one would like to stand in this area though i believe i maybe too late.
Good luck to all involved.
James.

It's a shame that you have decided not to stand against Lib Dems, given that they have lost so much credibility among the electorate and seem to be more or less finished as a political force.

The fact that they have paid lip service to the idea of drug reform is by the by. They've had the opportunity whilst in government to do something more than talk, and yet they've not used this chance to do anything meaningful.

I would have thought that the constituencies where the LibDems do have MPs would be the ones most likely to yield results. It's not inconceivable to think the voters in these areas would have a higher awareness of the necessity to change the current laws and are more likely to use their vote to that end.

I would suggest that your trust in them is misplaced and that fielding a candidate in LibDem constituencies would be more likely to poll greater numbers for you than in a Tory stronghold.

Hi, I would like to make a suggestion on how you could improve your campaign. Instead of handing out leaflets, you could have open places where people who have the same views about cannabis could sign and create a pledge and if we get enough pledges from people we could submit it to local authority. Then we actually may be able to have some progress to put alcohol in the banned zone and cannabis in the safe zone. this is only a suggestion that may be able to work.

Cannabis has always been a delicate subject for politicians.
